Distribution and health risk assessment of HCHs and DDTs in underground river of karst, Southwest China |
|
|
Abstract To explore the potential healthy hazards of organochlorine pesticides in the karst areas, HCHs and DDTs from underground rivers of Guangxi, Yunnan, Chongqing and Guizhou were detected, and health risks associated with these organic pollutants were assessed primarily by an assessment model of water environmental health risk. The average concentrations of HCHs in Guangxi, Yunnan, Chongqing and Guizhou were 3.39, 4.60, 15.18, 19.06ng/L, respectively; and the averaged concentrations of DDTs in the these regions were 1.36, 3.01, 13.41, 15.05ng/L, respectively. Distribution characteristics of HCHs and DDTs isomers suggested the HCHs of Yunnan and Guangxi were mainly from the early residue, while there were still some fresh inputs at most sections in Chongqing and Guizhou;for DDTs,in Yunnan and Guizhou, there were result of history using probably, while in Guangxi and Chongqing, there may be some new source. Based on the model of water environmental health risk assessment, the health risk caused by organochlorine pesticides was low in the studying area.
