Sorption kinetics and thermodynamics study of tylosin by microplastics |

Abstract Tylosin (TYL) was wsed as one representative organic pollutant, the sorption performance and mechanism of tylosin on two micro-plastics polyethylene (PE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) was systematically investigated. The sorption capacity of PVC was higher than that of PE. The results showed that the sorption of TYL on MPs reached equilibrium at 36h, and the sorption kinetics fitted pseudo-second-order kinetics well. The particle diffusion model showed that the surface sorption and particle diffusion model was the main mechanism for both PE and PVC. The sorption isotherm was consistent with Henry model, the results showed that the sorption of tylosin on PE and PVC had obvious distribution. The sorption thermodynamics showed such process was spontaneous. This study provided formation of pollutants in the natural environment.
