Investigation on the antibiotic-resistance E.coli in Wenyu river in Beijing.

The occurrence of antibiotic-resistance E.coli to four classes of antibiotics including ampicillin, tetracycline,sulfonamide (sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim) and levofloxacin in Wenyu river in Beijing was investigated by using membranefilter method with E. coli chromogenic culture media. In Wenyu river basin, the total number of E. coli was 103~107cell/L and thenumber of antibiotic-resistance E. coli was 0~106 cell/L. The antibiotic-resistance rates to ampicillin, tetracycline, andsulfonamide were 10%~35%, 5%~25%, 10%~35% respectively; while the antibiotic-resistance rate of levofloxacin which wasrecently using in hospital was lowered than 15%. At the sampling point influenced by the fishery discharge, the number of antibiotic-resistance E. coli to tetracycline was higher markedly than those of resistance E. coli to other antibiotics, while the highest levofloxacin-resistance rates could be inferred having source of human discharge.

Study on methane sulfonic acid particles in the marine atmosphere of Macao Island

The concentration and percentage, diameter, pH value, and general variational characteristics of methanesulfonic acid (MSA) particles collected from the marine atmosphere of Macao Island of China were studied using the thinfilm method for single particle detection. The concentration of MSA particle in the atmosphere was 6.7×10-11 ~24.5×10-11nmol/m3, the number were 9.3%~33.8%, the pH value 1.63~2.51, and the equivalent diameter 1.1294~1.4371µm. Therewas obvious seasonal and daily variations of these parameters. The concentration and number percentage of MSA particle
reached their maxima in summer; the equivalent diameter and acidity of MSA particle increased with the decreased of airtemperature and increasing of the relative humidity, attaining maximum and minimum respectively in spring. During theday, highest MSA particle concentration appeared in the afternoon and lowest in the morning.
