Abstract:In this paper, the degradation characteristics of some organophosphorus_insecticides including pyridaphention, fenamiphos and profenofos by the isocarbophos-degrading strain Arthrobacter sp. scl-2were studied. It was found that strain scl-2could use pyridaphention, fenamiphos and profenofos as the sole phosphorus source for growth. The optimal temperature for the biodegradation of pyridaphention, fenamiphos and profenofos by strain scl-2was 30°C. The initial pH value for pyridaphention biodegradation was 8.0. However, the optimal pH values for fenamiphos and profenofos were found to be 7.0. Using the GC-MS technology, the metabolites of pyridaphention, fenamiphos and profenofos degraded by strain scl-2were identified to be 6-hydroxy-2-phenylpyridazin-3(2H)-one, 3-Methyl-4-methylsulfanyl-phenol and 4-bromo-2-chlorophenol, respectively.
