Abstract:In order to prevent major industrial accidents involving dangerous substances and help protect the water environment security, the model in context of Seveso III Directive was chosen for the watershed environmental risk assessment. There were a number of factories widely distributed in Jinjiang watershed. Here a case study was applied in Jinjiang watershed, Quanzhou, after an improvement of this model. The leakage risk was assessed with the digital elevation data, the distribution of industries and the storage of dangerous substances. The regional industrial environment risk was further assessed together with the regional vulnerability. According to the results, Nan’an had the highest risk with a value of 108, while Anxi and Quanzhou city had a medium level. Jinjiang City was with the lowest value at risk. Based on the above, some targeted suggestions were proposed for environmental risk control in Jinjiang watershed.
