Abstract:When dissolved in the water, true blue (TB) can lower the underwater intensity of illumination and weaken the incident wave band of 370~440nm and 530~680nm. The inhibiting effect of TB on the algae growth in the concentrations of 0.1mg/L, 1 mg/L and 5mg/L and in water depth of 0.4m, 0.7m and 1m were analyzed, and acute toxic tests of TB on zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio) were also determined. The results showed that the underwater intensity of illumination decayed significantly with attenuation coefficient from 0.25m-1 to 0.7m-1. When in the water depth of 0.4m and 0.7m, algae growth was significantly inhibited (P<0.05) by TB, and the inhibition ratio of 0.1mg/L, 1mg/L and 5mg/L rose rapidly after 6d and were stable over 65% after 15d, the inhibiting effect on the algae in 0.4m groups were better. And the inhibiting effect on algae was poor after 21d when the water depth increased to 1 m under all TB concentrations. The acute toxic tests provided that the 96h LC50 of TB on zebra fish was 442.8mg/L.
