Abstract：According to the EU technical guidance document on risk assessment for existing substances, the predicted non-effect concentration (PNEC) values of perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) for the environmental mediums were devied with the toxicity data of the native species in China. The PNEC values for freshwater, sediment and soil were 1μg/L, 2.7μg/kg (wwt), 1μg/kg (wwt), respectively, which would provide the scientific foundation for risk assessment for PFOS in the ecological environment in China.
