Abstract:To investigate the kinetics characteristics of nitrogen removal at single cycle under pseudo-steady-state condition, the kinetics characteristics of inhibition period and the most suitable models were obtained from the process. The kinetics characteristics of nitrogen removal at single cycle of ANAMMOX process under pseudo-steady-state condition were first evaluated. The results showed that the modified Logistic model and the modified Boltzmann model were found to be the appropriate models to describe the performance of the ASBR at single cycle under pseudo-steady-state condition. Moreover, the effluent total nitrogen and the total nitrogen removal at any time of the cycle were obtained. The relationship between the effluent FA and the TN removal rate and the relationship between the effluent NO2--N and the TN removal rate were established by the Haldane model and the Aiba model, suggesting the Haldane model was more appropriate to predict the values. According to Haldane model, the inhibition concentrations of the effluent FA and the effluent NO2--N were suggested as 72.36mg/L and 140.60mg/L, respectively. These models and parameters might be used in ASBR reactor design and control.
