Abstract:Chemical oxidation coupled with microbial remediation is a technology that employs moderate oxidation pretreatment to degrade and transform highly concentrated organic pollutants in contaminated soil, which are otherwise difficult to degrade. This process enhances the bioavailability of these pollutants and utilizes microorganisms to facilitate their degradation. It shows great potential for application and advancement in the joint remediation of soil in sites contaminated with organic pollutants. This article provides a summary of the research progress made in the field of chemical oxidation coupled with microbial remediation technology. It introduces methods for accurately predicting soil REDOX potential, optimizing and enhancing microbial degradation, and regulating the soil remediation process using machine learning techniques. The paper also reviews various strategies to improve the efficiency of chemical oxidation coupled with microbial remediation, aiming to offer valuable insights for the engineering application of a green, cost-effective, safe, and efficient method for soil remediation in organic-contaminated sites.
