Abstract:In order to investigate the pollutants removal efficiencies for the anoxic-filter membrane bioreactor (AF-MBR) treating mariculture wastewater, polyurethane suspended filler was added into the membrane bioreactor in contrast with a single membrane bioreactor. The total nitrogen and TOC removal efficiencies in AF-MBR reached 92% and 90%, respectively, which were higher than 86% and 85% in control-MBR, respectively. In addition, the prepositioned anoxic-filter and the added fillers significantly alleviated the membrane fouling. The soluble microbial products (SMP) and extracellular polymers (EPS) extracted from two reactors were analyzed by the infrared spectrum and three-dimensional fluorescence spectra, and protein and polysaccharide were the main membrane foulants. Moreover, the reduction of membrane foulants mitigated the membrane fouling.
